Join our DofE Gold cookery residential at Chalet Pomet our stunning ski chalet in Morillon, French Alps, just an hour (transfer included) from Geneva airport.  As an AAP you can rest assured our course fully meets the Gold residential requirements.  You'll learn essential cooking skills along with hosting and time management and an option Level 2 in food safety and hygiene. All while making friends for life in a fun and supportive environment.

Honestly, the whole experience was incredible. I was a bit worried about the transfer and pick up from the airport but it was all super smooth and easy to work out once I arrived. The house itself if incredible - When I signed up I only really expected to be doing cooking (which was incredible) but we also learned loads about being a ski season host, budgeting, and also got to explore the mountains doing rafting and high ropes. It was such a jam packed week getting to meet some lovely people and, of course, eating some delicious food!

HOW IT WORKS

Spend 6 nights in Morillon, the heart of the French Alps, learning to cook with experienced chefs and chalet hosts at Chalet Pomet.  You'll master a variety of delicious dishes and gain insight into chalet hosting, perfect for a ski season job, budgeting your way through university life or hospitality work.

Cook eat and enjoy everything you create while expanding your culinary skills and leave confident in the kitchen.

•    Essential Cooking Skills – From breakfast prep to afternoon tea bakes and three-course dinners.
  

 •    Kitchen Setup & Hygiene – Organising a professional kitchen, food safety, and efficient stocking. With optional level 2 food safety and hygiene certificate.
   

•    Menu Planning & Dietary Needs – Creating balanced menus, catering for dietary requirements, and managing budgets.
   

•    Chalet Hosting & Hospitality – Learn the essentials of running a chalet, from guest experience to time management.

 

Beyond the kitchen, enjoy downtime exploring the mountains, visiting Lac Bleu, or joining an optional team activity like white-water rafting or a tree-top adventure (weather permitting).

We've been working at Chalet Pomet in the French Alps for six years.  We manage the catered ski chalet in Winter and the cookery school in Summer.

Looking to complete your DofE SKILLS section? From the comfort of your own home, sign up for our affordable ONLINE Level 1 and 2 Season It Cookery Course. Combine them both for your Gold skills section.  Each level is 3 months in duration and will take approx ONE hour per week. You'll get to cook some lovely dishes that will wow your family and yourself :) Easy to follow tutorials and printable recipe cards guide you step by step. We are a SKILLS AAP(DofE Approved Activity Provider) and will be your assessor during the course and we will write your report upon completion of the course.
